On August 3, 2026, at approximately 2:21 AM, a Statesboro Police Department officer was conducting a walking patrol in the 300 block of Rucker Lane when an active fire alarm was heard coming from a vacant unit.
The officer checked the exterior of the unit and found the rear door to be unsecured. Entry was made, but no one was located inside. Statesboro Fire Department arrived on scene and determined the alarm to be a false alarm.
