Traffic stop leads to citations for two individuals
On December 13, 2025, at approximately 10:41 PM, a traffic stop was conducted on Fair Rd at Tillman Rd by an officer from the Statesboro Police Department. The stop was initiated for a brake light being out. During the investigation, the officer detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle and subsequently searched it. The search yielded suspected marijuana roaches and rolling papers, as well as tobacco and nicotine products.
Two individuals, a 19-year-old and a 20-year-old, were cited for the charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were also warned for separate infractions and released shortly after.
